The SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86CRm-S is built for anyone looking for a barbell that makes no compromises in hybrid Crosslifting® between explosive snatch movements and heavy compound exercises. It combines the smooth rotation of a Weightlifting Bar with the robustness you need for heavy, functional training – 28 mm shaft, uncompromising bearing performance and spring steel with a static load capacity of up to 680 kg. As a Commercial Grade bar, it is designed for demanding continuous use in the gym.

Core Feature: 8 Needle Bearings and 2 Bronze Bushings

At the heart of the OB86CRm-S are eight needle bearings and two self-lubricating bronze bushings. This combination provides balanced, smooth spin that keeps up cleanly during cleans, snatches and jerks without becoming unstable during heavy deadlifts or squats. The needle bearings provide the fast, consistent rotation required for Olympic movements, while the bronze bushings deliver the necessary smoothness and durability for daily gym use. The result is a bar that feels technically precise and predictable both in motion and under load.

Spring Steel with 200,000 PSI Tensile Strength

The OB86CRm-S is made from alloy spring steel with a tensile strength of 200,000 PSI. In addition to chromium, molybdenum and silicon, the manganese content in particular provides high elasticity – and creates the characteristic warm reddish hue in the copper tone of the shaft. The static load limit is 1,500 lbs (680 kg). This allows the bar to flex back in a controlled manner during dynamic repetitions rather than losing tension, returning cleanly to its straight original shape after loading.

Grip, Knurling and Markings

The shaft has a diameter of 28 mm – the reference standard for Weightlifting and dynamic Crosslifting®. The knurling is tuned to medium sharp: grippy enough for maximum hold during heavy pulls without tearing up the palms during high-repetition sets. Centre knurling is deliberately omitted so that the bar runs cleanly along the neck during front squats and behind-the-neck exercises. For regulation-compliant grip positioning, the OB86CRm-S features both IWF and IPF markings (810/910 mm).

Coating and Collar System

The shaft is coated with Black Oxide and features the warm copper tone created by the spring steel alloy. The barbell sleeves have a high-quality Zinc Matte Gloss coating in Silver Matte – a finish that looks impressive while providing lasting corrosion protection for the sleeves. The bar is secured with high-quality Dual Snap Ring collars featuring an embossed SQMIZE® logo, which securely enclose the sleeves and keep the bearings permanently in place.

Scope of Delivery and Care

Included in delivery is one SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86CRm-S Olympic Bar made from spring steel. The bar is supplied from the factory with a protective layer of oil and film. Remove the oil with a dry, soft cloth before first use. All further care instructions can be found in the enclosed leaflet and in our information on 50 mm barbells on the website.

* Dropping is only permitted when using suitable solid rubber weight plates (bumper plates) and on floors with a protected surface made of drop mats.

** The warranty against bending requires proper handling of the barbell. It does not apply in cases of negligent or improper use. The warranty also becomes void if the bar is modified, improperly maintained or improperly stored. Dropping is only permitted under the conditions stated above.
