Robust Bronze Bushing Bearing System

The OB86CR-X Ceramic Black uses a bronze bushing bearing system – straightforward, robust and easy to maintain. The self-lubricating bronze bushings ensure smooth rotation of the barbell sleeves and are an easy-care, durable choice for everyday training, whether you are a beginner or an advanced athlete. This very character makes the bar a solid all-purpose bar for daily use.

Alloy Steel with 175,000 PSI Tensile Strength

The OB86CR-X Ceramic Black is made from alloy specialty steel (Alloy Steel) and designed for a tensile strength of 175,000 PSI. Its static load capacity is 1,000 lbs (450 kg), providing ample reserve for multipurpose training in the gym. It is designed for controlled lifting and setting down; for dropping, we recommend the drop-tested bars from the ELITE CLUB range.

Grip, Knurling and Markings

The shaft has a diameter of 30 mm, giving it a slightly fuller feel in the hand – comfortable for mixed training with many repetitions. The knurling is tuned to a light sharp specification: grippy, yet gentle on the skin. There is no centre knurling. For different grip positions in Weightlifting and Powerlifting, the bar features both IWF and IPF markings (810/910 mm).

Coating: Ceramic Black and Zinc Silver Matte

The visual highlight is the ceramic black coating of the shaft (Ceramic Black) – a robust surface with a clear, matte appearance. The barbell sleeves feature a Zinc Silver Matte coating that provides solid rust resistance. The bar is secured with high-quality Dual Snap Ring end caps featuring an embossed SQMIZE® logo, which neatly enclose the sleeves.

Technical Data

Scope of Delivery and Care

Included in delivery is one SQMIZE® POWER PACK OB86CR-X Ceramic Black Olympic Bar. The bar is supplied from the factory with a protective layer of oil and film – remove the oil with a dry, soft cloth before first use. The bronze bushing bearing system in particular should be oiled regularly; you can find our recommended oil here: Universal Oil Spray.
