Core Feature: 8 Needle Bearings and 2 Bronze Bushings

At the heart of the OB86CRm-S are eight needle bearings and two self-lubricating bronze bushings. This combination provides a balanced, smooth spin that moves cleanly with cleans, snatches, and jerks without becoming unstable during heavy deadlifts or squats. The needle bearings provide the fast, consistent rotation required for Olympic movements, while the bronze bushings deliver the smoothness and durability needed for daily studio use. The result is a bar that feels technically precise and predictable, even under heavy loads.

Spring Steel with 200,000 PSI Tensile Strength

The  OB86CRm-S is made from alloy spring steel with a tensile strength of 200,000 PSI. In addition to chromium, molybdenum, and silicon, the manganese content in particular contributes to its high elasticity. The static load limit is 1,500 lbs (680 kg). This allows the bar to flex back in a controlled manner during dynamic repetitions instead of losing tension, returning cleanly to its straight original shape after loading.

Grip, Knurling and Markings

The shaft has a diameter of 28 mm – the reference standard for weightlifting and dynamic Crosslifting®. The knurling is tuned to a medium sharp profile: grippy enough to provide maximum hold during heavy pulls without excessively tearing up the palms during high-repetition sessions. Center knurling has deliberately been omitted so that the bar runs smoothly across the neck during front squats and behind-the-neck exercises. For regulation-compliant grip positioning, the OB86CRm-S features both IWF and IPF markings (810/910 mm).

Coating: CrCN Carbon-Chrome Coating Gold and Zinc Silver Matte

The highlight is the shaft: its CrCN Gold coating is extremely thin yet highly durable – it does not cover up the knurling, allowing its full grip performance to shine through. The barbell sleeves feature the proven zinc silver-matte coating, providing solid corrosion resistance on these heavily stressed components. The bar is secured with high-quality Dual Snap Ring collars featuring an embossed SQMIZE® logo, which securely enclose the sleeves.

Scope of Delivery and Care

Included in delivery is an Olympic barbell SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86CRm-S CrCN Gold made from spring steel. The bar is classified as Commercial Grade and is therefore designed for continuous studio use. It is shipped from the factory with a protective layer of oil and film – remove the oil with a dry, soft cloth before first use. * Dropping is only permitted when using suitable solid rubber weight plates (bumper plates) and on floors with a protected surface made of drop mats.

** The warranty against bending requires proper handling of the barbell. It does not apply in cases of negligent or improper use. The warranty also becomes void if the bar is modified, improperly maintained, or stored improperly. Dropping is permitted exclusively under the conditions stated above.
