The SQMIZE® POWER PACK OB86PL-XE Ceramic Black Olympic barbell is essentially a powerlifting bar – and an excellent choice for anyone who prefers not to have center knurling. Its defining features are a solid 30 mm shaft with a matte silver zinc finish, grippy knurling, and a balanced bearing system with four precision bronze bushings. In terms of weight and dimensions, it strictly follows the proven Olympic standard.

Powerlifting Without Center Knurling

Not every athlete wants the center knurling found on a classic power bar. While it provides maximum grip on the back during heavy squats, it can cause uncomfortable skin friction during high-volume training. The SQMIZE® OB86PL-XE deliberately omits this feature – while remaining an uncompromising powerlifting bar in every other respect: a substantial 30 mm shaft, the official IPF marking at 810 mm, and a reliable bronze bushing bearing system that provides exactly the controlled rotation required for powerlifting.

Core Feature: 4 Bronze Bushings

Four bronze bushings provide the rotation for this barbell. Powerlifting does not require the extremely free, ultra-fast spin of Olympic weightlifting, but rather smooth, controlled, and consistently balanced rotation. The bar should remain absolutely stable in your hands during squats, bench presses, and deadlifts without moving ahead of the motion in an uncontrolled manner. The installed bronze bushings are extremely robust, easy to maintain, and designed for maximum longevity.

Alloy Steel with 175,000 PSI Tensile Strength

The SQMIZE® OB86PL-XE is made from high-strength alloy steel and designed for a tensile strength of 175,000 PSI. Its static load capacity is 1,000 lbs (450 kg). This is a strong value for a 30 mm training bar and provides high strength reserves for ambitious powerlifting training at home or in the gym.

Grip, Knurling and IPF Marking

The shaft has a diameter of 30 mm, giving it a substantial and solid feel in your hand. The knurling features the proven "light sharp" profile: excellent grip while remaining gentle enough on the skin for long training sessions with high repetitions. For regulation-compliant gripping, the bar features the standardized IPF marking at a distance of 810 mm.

Coating

The shaft features a ceramic coating. The ultra-thin coating provides excellent grip. The matte silver zinc sleeves provide a pleasant contrast to the black shaft. Matte silver zinc is a durable coating that provides solid rust resistance. The bar is secured with professional Dual Snap Ring end caps featuring an embossed SQMIZE® logo, which securely enclose the sleeves.

The barbell is delivered from the factory with a protective layer of oil and film – please remove the oil thoroughly with a dry, soft cloth before first use.
