Calibrated Competition Power Bar SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86PL-IPC – Powerlifting

The SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86PL-IPC Calibrated Competition Power Bar is designed with the characteristics of an IPF competition barbell in mind. With a 29 mm shaft, four oversized Elite Bronze Bushings, IPF markings with center knurling, and minimal tolerances, it is built equally for training and competition. The alloy steel is rated for static loads of up to 1,200 kg – its strength values have been certified by an independent German testing laboratory.

Calibrated: High Weight Accuracy, Tight Tolerances

Calibration is at the core of this bar. It weighs 20 kg with a maximum deviation of ±20 grams, its length is 220 cm with a tolerance of ±1 mm, and the straightness tolerance is 0.2 mm over the entire length. These tight tolerances across all dimensions are what define a competition barbell: you work with exactly the same starting conditions on every attempt, both in training and on the platform.

Core Feature: 4 Oversized Elite Bronze Bushings

Unlike a weightlifting bar, the OB86PL-IPC deliberately relies on a pure bronze bushing bearing system – four oversized bushings in total. Powerlifting does not require a free, fast spin, but rather controlled, smooth rotation: the bar should remain stable during squats, bench presses, and deadlifts without moving ahead of the movement. That is exactly what the bronze bushings provide – a specialized powerlifting spin that is robust and durable.

Specialized Steel with 227,070 PSI – Certified by a German Testing Laboratory

The OB86PL-IPC is made from alloy specialty steel that achieves a tensile strength of 227,070 PSI; the yield strength is 210,975 PSI. Both values have been tested and certified by an independent German testing laboratory. The static load capacity is 2,650 lbs (1,200 kg). In addition to chromium and molybdenum, the silicon content provides the necessary elasticity – although deliberately limited in a powerlifting bar so that the bar remains rigid under maximum loads and does not begin to oscillate.

Grip, Knurling and IPF Marking

The shaft has a diameter of 29 mm – the powerlifting standard, noticeably more substantial than a weightlifting bar. The knurling is sharp and manufactured with high consistency: secure enough for heavy deadlift sets, but not so aggressive that it tears up your hands. Center knurling provides secure positioning on the back during squats. For regulation-compliant gripping, the bar features the IPF marking with a distance of 810 mm.

Coating

The shaft and barbell sleeves are fully coated with Hard Chrome, providing a very high level of wear and corrosion protection. The bar is secured with SQMIZE® Dual Snap closures that securely enclose the sleeves.
