Powerlifting Competition Bar SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86PL-K Titanium Black

The SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86PL-K Powerlifting Competition Bar features the characteristics that define powerlifting: a 29 mm shaft, oversized Elite bronze bushings, an IPF marking at 810 mm and centre knurling. Its knurling pattern is designed to meet the expectations of most powerlifters, while the ultra-thin Titanium Black coating enhances grip rather than dampening it. The specially alloyed steel has a static load capacity of up to 900 kg.

Core Feature: 4 Oversized Elite Bronze Bushings

Rotation is provided by four oversized Elite bronze bushings. Powerlifting does not require a free, fast spin, but rather controlled, smooth rotation: during squats, bench presses and deadlifts, the bar should remain stable and not move ahead of the athlete. That is exactly what the bronze bushings deliver – a specialised powerlifting spin that is robust and durable.

Knurling and Centre Knurling

The knurling pattern and depth are tailored to what powerlifters expect: the knurling is sharp and provides a secure, non-slip grip during heavy deadlift sets. The centre knurling gives the bar additional hold on the back during squats and helps prevent it from shifting. For regulation-compliant grip positioning, the OB86PL-K features the IPF marking at 810 mm.

Specialty Steel with 213,000 PSI Tensile Strength

The OB86PL-K is made from alloyed specialty steel with a tensile strength of 213,000 PSI; the yield strength is 202,500 PSI. The static load limit is 2,000 lbs (900 kg). In addition to chromium and molybdenum, the silicon content provides the required elasticity – deliberately restrained in a powerlifting bar so that the bar remains stiff under maximum loads and does not begin to oscillate.

Precision in Weight and Straightness

The OB86PL-K weighs 20 kg with a maximum deviation of ±20 grams. Over the total length of 220 cm, the straightness tolerance is just 0.2 mm. This ensures that every attempt starts from the same consistent baseline – both in training and competition.

Coating: Titanium Black

The shaft features a Titanium Black coating. It is hard and durable while also being ultra-thin: it does not cover the knurling but enhances its grip – a noticeable advantage on a sharply knurled powerlifting bar. It is also highly abrasion-resistant, making it durable for demanding daily gym use. The bar is sealed with high-quality SQMIZE® Dual Snap Ring end caps.

Scope of Delivery and Care

Included in delivery is one SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86PL-K Powerlifting Competition Bar. The bar is classified as Commercial Grade and is therefore designed for continuous use in commercial gym environments. It is delivered from the factory with a protective layer of oil and film – remove the oil with a dry, soft cloth before first use. For further care instructions, please refer to the enclosed leaflet and our information on 50 mm barbells on the website.
