Calibrated Competition Power Bar SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86PL-IPC CrCN Carbon-Chrome Black – Powerlifting

The SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86PL-IPC CrCN Black Calibrated Competition Power Bar is based in its design and characteristics on an IPF competition bar. With its 29 mm shaft, four oversized Elite bronze bushings, IPF marking with centre knurling and minimal tolerances, it is built equally for training and competition. The alloy steel is rated for a static load of up to 1,200 kg, with its strength values certified by an independent German testing laboratory.

Calibrated: High Weight Accuracy, Tight Tolerances

Calibration is the core feature of this bar. It weighs 20 kg with a maximum deviation of ±20 grams, its length is 220 cm with a tolerance of ±1 mm, and the straightness tolerance is 0.2 mm across the entire length. These tight tolerances across all dimensions are what distinguish a competition bar: you work with exactly the same starting conditions on every attempt, both in training and on the platform.

Core Feature: 4 Oversized Elite Bronze Bushings

Unlike a weightlifting bar, the OB86PL-IPC deliberately uses a pure bronze-bushing bearing system – four oversized bushings in total. Powerlifting does not require a free, fast spin, but controlled, smooth rotation: the bar should remain stable during squats, bench presses and deadlifts without running ahead of the movement. That is exactly what the bronze bushings deliver – the characteristic powerlifting spin, robust and durable.

Specialty Steel with 227,070 PSI – Certified by a German Testing Laboratory

The OB86PL-IPC CrCN Carbon-Chrome Black is manufactured from alloy steel with a tensile strength of 227,070 PSI; the yield strength is 210,975 PSI. Both values have been tested and certified by an independent German testing laboratory. The static load limit is 2,650 lbs (1,200 kg). In addition to chromium and molybdenum, the silicon content provides the necessary elasticity – deliberately restrained in a powerlifting bar so that the bar remains stiff under maximum load and does not begin to oscillate.

Grip, Knurling and IPF Marking

The shaft has a diameter of 29 mm – the powerlifting standard, noticeably more substantial than a weightlifting bar. The knurling is sharp and manufactured with a high degree of consistency: secure enough for heavy deadlift sets, but not so aggressive that it tears up your hands. Centre knurling provides secure positioning on the back during squats. For regulation-compliant grip positioning, the bar features the IPF marking at a distance of 810 mm.

Coating: CrCN Carbon-Chrome Coating Black and Hard Chrome

The shaft features a black Carbon-Chrome coating. It is extremely hard and durable while also being ultra-thin: it does not cover the knurling but instead enhances its grip – a noticeable advantage on a sharp-knurled powerlifting bar. It is also highly abrasion-resistant, helping to maintain an attractive appearance over the long term. The sleeves are finished with Hard Chrome, providing a very high level of wear and corrosion protection. The bar is secured with SQMIZE® Dual Snap Ring collars that securely enclose the sleeves.

Scope of Delivery and Care

Included in delivery is one SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86PL-IPC CrCN Black Calibrated Competition Power Bar. The bar is classified as Commercial Grade and is therefore designed for continuous use in commercial gym environments. It is supplied from the factory with a protective layer of oil and film – remove the oil with a dry, soft cloth before first use.
