Weight plates on the floor are the start of chaos. They get in the way, they tip over, and if you’re looking for the 20s, you first have to move three 10s out of the way. In the gym, the problem is compounded by the fact that no one puts them back if there isn’t a designated spot. The SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB BS900 stores them vertically on a 46 x 46 cm footprint—six holders, 500 kg load capacity, everything at a glance.

Six holders, three levels

The holders are arranged in pairs at three different heights, to the left and right of the center column. This arrangement is why the tower remains slim despite its height: The load is distributed symmetrically, rather than hanging one-sidedly against a wall.

Each mount is 23.5 cm long and designed for a 50 mm bore. Each mount is rated for a minimum load of 75 kg. Every Olympic weight plate, from the 1.25 kg to the 25 kg bumper plate, fits.

Footprint and Load Capacity

The tower stands on a 46 x 46 cm base plate. With a height of 141 cm and a weight of 49 kg, this is the key design feature—the plate distributes the weight evenly across the floor rather than concentrating it on four legs. On rubber floors in the gym, this prevents indentations that won’t disappear even after months.

The combined load capacity of all six mounts is 500 kg. This corresponds to several complete sets of weight plates: 2 x 25, 2 x 20, 2 x 15, 2 x 10, 2 x 5, and 2 x 2.5 kg. This is sufficient for a workout corner with two to three racks.

The total width is 72 cm, and the depth is 46 cm. The tower thus fits into the gap between two pieces of equipment or against a wall without the discs protruding into the walkway—in this space, that’s the difference between a parking spot and a tripping hazard.

Construction

The center column is made of solid sheet metal and supports the mounts on both sides. It catches the discs inward so that rubber does not strike rubber when a 25-gram disc is slid onto the mount from the left.

The mounts are left uncoated, while the frame is coated in gray. On a machine where metal slides against metal daily, an uncoated mount lasts longer than a painted one—a coating in this area would be scraped off after half a year of studio use.
