Core Feature: Specialised Bearing System with Ten Bearings

The heart of the OB86CRm-D is its bearing system – a unique combination of four ball bearings, four needle bearings and two bronze bushings. This combination is deliberately designed for low-friction operation and promotes outstanding, consistent spin. During fast lifts such as cleans and snatches, the sleeves rotate smoothly, while during heavy compound exercises, the rotation remains calm and predictable. The result is spin performance that supports dynamic Weightlifting as well as heavy Crosslifting® sets.

Specialty Steel with 220,000 PSI – Certified by a German Testing Laboratory

The OB86CRm-D is made from alloy high-performance steel with a tensile strength of 220,000 PSI; the yield strength is 209,000 PSI. Both values have been tested and certified by an independent German testing laboratory. The static load limit is 2,000 lbs (900 kg). In addition to chromium and molybdenum, the silicon content provides the high elasticity that gives the bar balanced whip when required without sacrificing stability.

Grip, Knurling and Markings

The shaft has a diameter of 28 mm. The knurling is tuned to light sharp – comfortable in the hands while still providing enough grip to keep the bar secure during fast lifts such as cleans and snatches. Centre knurling is omitted, making front squats and behind-the-neck exercises more comfortable. For a wide range of grip positions in Weightlifting and Powerlifting, the OB86CRm-D features Dual Marks according to IWF and IPF standards (810/910 mm).

Coating and Design

The coating combines function and aesthetics: the barbell sleeves are finished with Hard Chrome, while the shaft features an elegant Black Zinc coating. Black silicone design bands and panels provide its distinctive appearance. The bar is secured with high-quality black Dual Snap Ring collars featuring an embossed SQMIZE® logo, which securely enclose the sleeves and keep the bearings permanently in place.

Scope of Delivery and Care

Included in delivery is one SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86CRm-D Olympic Bar. The bar is supplied from the factory with a protective layer of oil and film. Remove the oil with a dry, soft cloth before first use. All further care instructions can be found in the enclosed leaflet and in our information on 50 mm barbells on the website.

The OB86CRm-D is classified as Commercial Grade and is therefore designed for continuous use in commercial gym environments. It is drop-tested* and comes with a lifetime warranty against bending**.

* Dropping is only permitted when using suitable solid rubber weight plates (bumper plates) and on floors with a protected surface made of drop mats.

** The warranty against bending requires proper handling of the barbell. It does not apply in cases of negligent or improper use. The warranty also becomes void if the bar is modified, improperly maintained or improperly stored. Dropping is only permitted under the conditions stated above.
