Rotation is provided by a hybrid bearing system consisting of four needle bearings and two self-lubricating bronze bushings. The needle bearings deliver a fast, smooth spin for dynamic movements, while the bronze bushings provide smooth operation and durability for continuous use. The result is fluid rotation of the barbell sleeves, supporting both dynamic weightlifting and heavy Crosslifting®.

Spring Steel with 195,000 PSI Tensile Strength

The OB86CR-ES is made of alloy spring steel and designed for a tensile strength of 195,000 PSI. The static load capacity is 1,500 lbs (680 kg). The spring steel flexes back in a controlled manner during dynamic repetitions instead of losing tension and returns cleanly to its straight original shape after loading.

Grip, Knurling and Markings

The grip area has a diameter of 28 mm. The knurling is designed as light sharp – providing a secure grip while remaining comfortable. The ultra-thin coating on the shaft does not cover the knurling but rather enhances its grip. There is no center knurling. For regulation-compliant gripping, the OB86CR-ES features both IWF and IPF markings (810/910 mm).

Coating

The shaft features an ultra-thin Black Oxide coating; the chemical composition of the spring steel gives it its attractive copper tone. The barbell sleeves feature the proven zinc silver-matte coating, providing solid rust resistance. The bar is secured with high-quality Dual Snap Ring closures featuring an embossed SQMIZE® logo, which securely enclose the sleeves.

Scope of Delivery and Care

The scope of delivery includes one SQMIZE® ELITE CLUB OB86CR-ES Olympic barbell made of spring steel. The bar is classified as Commercial Grade and is therefore designed for continuous use in a studio environment. It is delivered from the factory with a protective layer of oil and film – remove the oil with a dry, soft cloth before first use. * Dropping is only permitted when using suitable full-rubber weight plates (Bumper Plates) and on floors with a protected surface made of drop mats.

** The warranty against bending requires proper handling of the barbell. It does not apply in cases of negligent or improper use. The warranty also becomes void if the bar is modified, improperly maintained, or improperly stored. Dropping is permitted exclusively under the conditions stated above.
