SQMIZE® BBP-XS5 Training Bumper Plate 5 kg – B-Grade

B-Grade: This Batch Has a Noticeable Odor

The SQMIZE® BBP-XS series is virtually odor-free. This batch does not meet that standard: The rubber has a noticeable inherent odor, which varies in intensity from plate to plate. The cause is a deviation in the material compound during production.

Everything else corresponds to the standard series specifications. Dimensional accuracy, weight tolerance, hardness, rebound characteristics, stainless steel insert and durability have all been tested and approved without any changes. The statutory warranty remains fully applicable.

The odor will fade over time. In a well-ventilated room, it decreases significantly over the first few weeks; outdoors or with the window open, the process is faster. If the plates are used in a garage, basement or outdoor area, the odor is usually barely noticeable from the beginning.

For this reason, we are offering this batch at a reduced price.

Professional Quality at a Discount Price

The SQMIZE® BBP-XS series redefines the price-performance ratio in the field of bumper plates. Robust training plates made from a high-strength solid rubber compound, in classic black, with the specifications that matter in training. The 5 kg plate is the finest increment in the series: It fills the gaps between the larger jumps and makes progression from set to set predictable.

Solid Rubber with Stainless Steel Inner Ring

The color pigments are incorporated directly into the rubber compound rather than applied to the surface. The outer diameter is 450 mm, while the plate thickness is 24 mm. This slim design allows noticeably more plates to be loaded onto an Olympic barbell sleeve when approaching maximum loads.

The inner ring is made of stainless steel and has rounded edges. With a 50.4 mm opening, the plate runs smoothly on any professional Olympic barbell with a 50 mm sleeve, without sharp edges contacting the bar shaft. This makes loading and unloading between sets quick and easy.

Controlled on the Floor

At 86 Shore A, the compound is on the harder end of the bumper plate scale. Accordingly, the rebound is low: The barbell lands, bounces briefly and stays in place. During snatches, cleans and jerks, this provides controlled conditions for the next lift. The series has undergone more than 15,000 drops in testing.

The 5 kg plate is particularly useful for technical training. It allows warm-up sets at full pulling height, fine increments in progression and the development of complexes in which the bar remains in motion across several exercises. For deadlifts, squats and overhead presses, it complements the heavier plates to achieve the exact target load.

A Word About Toxic Substances

We do not use plasticizer oils rich in aromatic compounds during manufacturing, from which polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) can be released. Compliance documentation in accordance with RoHS and REACH is available for the BBP-XS series.
