The SQMIZE® BBP-XS series is virtually odor-free. This batch does not meet that standard: The rubber has a noticeable inherent odor, which varies in intensity from plate to plate. The cause is a deviation in the material compound during production.

Everything else corresponds to the standard series specifications. Dimensional accuracy, weight tolerance, hardness, rebound characteristics, stainless steel insert and durability have all been tested and approved without any changes. The statutory warranty remains fully applicable.

The odor will fade over time. In a well-ventilated room, it decreases significantly over the first few weeks; outdoors or with the window open, the process is faster. If the plates are used in a garage, basement or outdoor area, the odor is usually barely noticeable from the beginning.

For this reason, we are offering this batch at a reduced price.

The Standard Increment for Building Your Set

The 10 kg plate is the most frequently used increment on the rack. A pair of these plates adds 20 kg to the bar, and together with the 5 kg plates, they provide clean 10 kg increments. This allows you to work through a warm-up sequence from the empty bar to your working weight without turning the floor into a numbers game. The SQMIZE® BBP-XS series redefines the price-performance ratio in the field of bumper plates: high-strength solid rubber compound, classic black design and professional quality at an affordable price.

38 mm on the Sleeve

The plate measures 38 mm in thickness. With an outer diameter of 450 mm, this is a slim design, and the difference adds up: Several more plates can fit on each sleeve before the bar is fully loaded. Anyone working toward three-digit loads will notice this first when loading the bar.

The inner ring is made of stainless steel and has rounded edges. With a 50.4 mm opening, the plate runs smoothly on any professional Olympic barbell with a 50 mm sleeve. The color pigments are incorporated directly into the rubber compound rather than applied to the surface.

86 Shore A for Controlled Drops

At 86 Shore A, the compound is on the harder end of the bumper plate scale. Accordingly, the rebound is low: The barbell lands, bounces briefly and stays in place. During cleans, jerks and snatches, this provides controlled conditions for the next lift, while during deadlifts from the floor, the bar stays where it belongs. The series has undergone more than 15,000 drops in testing.

In training, the 10 kg plate covers the entire middle range. For front squats, overhead presses and rowing movements, it is the increment that allows the load to increase week after week. In complexes where the bar remains in motion across several exercises, it keeps the overall weight within a range that combines technique and volume.

A Word About Toxic Substances

We do not use plasticizer oils rich in aromatic compounds during manufacturing, from which polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) can be released. Compliance documentation in accordance with RoHS and REACH is available for the BBP-XS series.
